Texas Foundations Fund
Released October 19, 2009 - The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation is giving Notice of Funding Availability for the 2009 cycle of the Texas Foundations Fund. Funding availability for this cycle is $250,000, up to $50,000 per grant to a Nonprofit Entity or a Rural Government Entity. All grants for Eligible Projects shall be subject to the Texas Foundation Fund Guidelines and NOFA & Proposal Checklist.
The mission of the Texas Foundations Fund is to improve the living standards of Texas residents of very low and extremely low income by providing grants to build new single family homes, repair existing owner-occupied single family homes, enhance accessibility for the elderly and disabled, and provide supportive housing services for residents of multifamily rental units.
The objective of the Fund is to provide grants to nonprofit organizations and rural governmental entities (or their instrumentalities) for (i) the construction, rehabilitation, and/or critical repair of single family homes for homeowners who are Texas residents of very low or extremely low income, with a particular emphasis on serving very low-income disabled and rural Texans and (ii) the provision of additional supportive housing services for very low or extremely low income residents of multifamily rental units.
